Digital Dreamers! 6th and 7th Grade Chromebook Laptop Distribution

Digital Dreamers is a comprehensive technology program of the DeKalb County School District (DCSD). This program will reach every student and teacher in the district, and continue to build on the district’s vision of increasing students’ technological footprints and preparing them to be globally competitive citizens – both now and in the future. One of the The Digital Dreamers Program Initiatives is: * 1:1 Device Rollout: Chromebook laptops will be distributed to each middle and high school student in phases from Fall of 2017 through 2018.  DESA 6th and 7th grade students will receive their chromebook laptops Wed., 9/26/18. Click "Read more...." for details

Magnet Fees
Magnet Fees must be paid by cash or money order and may be paid in the mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in front of the media center. Payment in full ($60) is due by the end of the November. Click Read more.... for the magnet fee budget.

  • October 12th - Gr. 4-5 “Paige in Full” at the Alliance Theater
  • January 24th  - Gr. 6-7 “Acrobats of Hebei China” at the Cobb Energy Center 
  • February 14th  – Gr. K-3 “Paul Bunyan and the Tall Tale Medicine Show” at the Center of Puppetry Arts 
  • March 15th  – Gr. K-7 Wizard of OZ at the Alliance Theater

    School Start and End Times
    The school day at DESA begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Car riders may be dropped off beginning at 7:15 a.m.  Breakfast is served from 7:15 a.m. - 7:50 a.m. School buses begin arriving by 7:20 a.m. ALL students MUST be in their classroom, seated, and ready for instruction which will begin at 8:00 a.m.  Dismissal will begin at 3:00 p.m. Early check out ends at 2:30 p.m.  Please click "Read more..." about the tardy check-in process.
