Parents and community members, you are invited to participate in the Words Not Hands: DCSD Families Against Domestic Violence forum held on Wednesday October 10th at 7:00 PM in the Robert R. Freeman AIC Auditorium located at 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. This forum will feature a panel discussion that will give real answers to tough questions; survivor testimonies; round table discussions; and professional resources from Student Support Services, advocacy agencies, and local shelters. DESA has selected the Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence and the International Women’s House to support through this year’s benefit concert. The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office is proud to have DESA as a community partner with Dancing with the DeKalb Stars during domestic violence awareness month.

Concert Date and Time: Oct. 18th at 6:30 p.m.

Ticket Cost: $10

Principal Advisory Councils bring parents, school employees, students and community members together to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's perspectives and share ideas for increasing student achievement and performance.

What is the role of the Principal Advisory Council?

  • Act as a link between the school and the community
  • Encourage the engagement of parents and other stakeholders within the school community
  • Work to increase student achievement through transparent operations and shared best practices
  • Review the Continuous School Improvement Plan and monitor progress toward goals
  • Participate in the selection of the school principal.

Digital Dreamers is a comprehensive technology program of the DeKalb County School District (DCSD). This program will reach every student and teacher in the district, and continue to build on the district’s vision of increasing students’ technological footprints and preparing them to be globally competitive citizens – both now and in the future. One of the The Digital Dreamers Program Initiatives is: * 1:1 Device Rollout: Chromebook laptops will be distributed to each middle and high school student in phases from Fall of 2017 through 2018.  DESA 6th and 7th grade students will receive their chromebook laptops Wed., 9/26/18. Click "Read more...." for details
