In accordance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, all schools are required to notify parents at the beginning of each school year of their ‘Right to Know’ the professional qualifications of their student’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. Notification must occur within 30 calendar days from the start of school.
All schools are also required to provide timely notice to parents when students have been assigned or taught for 4 or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet applicable state certification or licensure requirements. Notification must be made within 10 business days following the four consecutive weeks. DESA sent the letter home via courier 8/16 and posted under the academic section of our website.
